Louise Randall reports on the launch of the the new InterCity 225 train in Edinburgh, and the embarrassment caused to British Rail by its having to be pulled by a diesel engine. BR Chief Executive John Welsby was obliged to make the announcement; Scottish Secretary Malcolm Rifkind talks about how the train should enhance rail travel and how he hopes the train will be fixed in time.
