Description
The Last Temptation of Christ - a film which depicts Jesus Christ dreaming of having sex with Mary Magdalene - has caused outrage in the Church. Chief Censor of the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), James Ferman says that it is not blasphemous and did not even require cutting. However, anti-porn campaigner Mary Whitehouse says that the fight to stop the film being shown is not over, and leader of Britain’s Roman Catholics, Cardinal Basil Hume says that the film should be boycotted. Alison Johns reports.
