- Description
- The IRA has held a West Belfast family hostage whilst using their car to set off a bomb in Belfast city centre. A local newspaper and the Samaritans were forewarned, allowing the area to be evacuated. There was however damage to local shops, but an unnamed local businessman resolves to be back in business as soon as possible. Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher and Secretary of State, Tom King are set for more talks on security in the province. Report by David Stokes includes the sound of the bomb detonating.
