Description

Falklands councillor and member of the government’s oil management team John Cheek on the agreement on oil exploration in the Falkland Islands brokered by Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind and Argentine President Carlos Menem. He says the agreement may bring revenue for them to pay for their own defence, should be attractive to oil companies including those from Argentina, and Argentina will extract public relations hype from the agreement.
