- Peter Kimber reports on conditions at Feltham remand centre after four inmates committed suicide in the last seven months. Judge Stephen Tumim, Chief Inspector of Prisons, claims the institution is not being run correctly. Feltham Governor, Joe Whitty claims the centre is improving but says that until he gets more funding, the problems will persist. Director of the Howard League for Penal Reform, Frances Crook sympathises, but says the funding is currently unavailable. Director-General of the Prison Service, Derek Lewis also comments.
