Description

Jeff Collins reports on the prospect of people needing transplants being given organs from animals. Scientists in Cambridge have discovered a genetic modification technique which will allow them to use pigs hearts in transplant operations. The chronic lack of donor organs has led researchers to investigate the alternatives. Interviews with Dr David White of the Cambridge company that made the breakthrough and a Cambridge transplant surgeon.
