- Description
- Robert Allen reports on the pay deal apparently reached between NHS and trust managers and the leaders of fourteen health unions to stop planned strikes in hospitals. The dispute was sparked in February when the Government offered a one percent national pay rise to be topped up by two percent by local trusts. Now the unions have accepted the introduction of local bargaining but say they have secured annual pay reviews and a national minimum wage. Includes comments from Bob Abberley of UNISON and Ken Jarrold of the Royal College of Nursing.
