Description
As the fifth 24-hour stoppage in 17 days hits Britain’s North Sea oil industry this morning, relatives and survivors of the 1988 Piper Alpha tragedy have been expressing their support for the striking contract workers. 250 men are still holding out in their sit-in in protest at the lack of union recognition of poor safety offshore. Ann Gillanders lost her husband Ian on Piper Alpha, and says it is crucial that the companies listen to the men offshore. Male interviewer not identified.
