Two excerpts from a press conference featuring Andrew Fowle, father of four year-old Ashley Fowle, who has arrived back in Britain after receiving a life-saving brain operation in the United States. New York surgeon Fred Epstein offered the Fowles his services after doctors in Britain said the operation was too dangerous to perform but it has been reported that Great Ormond Street Hospital in London could have performed it and Andrew Fowles questions why his son’s operation could not have been done in the UK. The Fowles raised sixty thousand pounds to send Ashley to the US after launching a public appeal.
