Olivia MacLeod reports on the possible verdict of the European Commission on Human Rights later today on the sentences awarded to eleven-year-olds Jon Venables and Robert Thompson for the murder of toddler, James Bulger in Bootle (12/02/93). The judge in the original case recommended that Venables and Thompson serve a minimum sentence of fifteen years for the two-year-old’s murder. These sentences could be reduced by the European Court.
