- Interview with British Rail Chairman, Sir Robert (Bob) Basil Reid, in which he says BR cannot meet the striking rail workers’ wage demands despite the announcement of record profits. The national network is on a total twenty-four hour shutdown for the third week running and the unions are threatening to step up the action. He suggests NUR leaders should go to the ACAS tribunal to decide a fair wage package. Male interviewer not identified.
