- Description
- Elena Curti reports on a statement by Chancellor Nigel Lawson, directed towards the rail unions, that further strikes could jeopardise investment in the railways. He told TUC leaders that it would be hard to justify putting more taxpayers’ money into the industry if the disruption continued. Meanwhile, TUC General Secretary Norman Willis said Lawson was adopting bullying tactics which would make it harder for the two sides to resume negotiations.
