Paul Woodley reporting on producer Cameron Mackintosh’s scrapping of plans to transfer the musical Miss Saigon from London to New York following the refusal by the American Actors’ Equity Association to allow white actor Jonathan Pryce to reprise the role of an Eurasian engineer. Actress Colleen Dewhurst arguing that the producers were not serious in their search for an American to play the part.
