- Description
- Nigel Wrench reports on the first screenings of Richard Attenborough’s film Cry Freedom in South Africa- the story of Donald Woods, journalist, and his friendship with Steve Biko, freedom fighter in South Africa under apartheid who was killed by police. The South African censorship board had allowed the film to be shown, but after the first few viewings, police moved in to seize the film from cinemas. The few who saw the film (including white South Africans) give their reaction to it.
