- Description
- Nurse Daphne Parish speaks for the first time on her way back to Gatwick Airport following her release from prison in Iraq. Zambian President, Kenneth Kaunda, who helped secure Parish’s release by speaking to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, believes UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher did not do enough to help prevent the execution of (co-accused) Observer journalist Farzad Bazoft. Foreign Office Minister, William Waldegrave hopes that Parish’s release could lead to better relations with Iraq. Phil Edwards reports.
