Havovi Todd reports from the LBC radio car outside St Paul’s Angels’ nursery in Brixton, South London, on the launch by Prime Minister John Major of a new Government education iniative. Touring London schools today, Major promised a special future for grant maintained institutions with reforms to help deprived children in badly performing schools. In a keynote speech, Major also pledged opposition by councils to schools wishing to become city technology colleges would be removed. Includes statements by John Major.
