Description

An Old Bailey judge has jailed an orchid grower, because of his obsessive plundering of rare flowers from the jungles of the world. Thirty-seven-year-old Henry Azadehdel admitted smuggling, harbouring, offering for sale and selling orchids. Azadehdel has to serve four months behind bars, and has been fined ten thousand pounds. Dr Philip Kribb of Kew Gardens believes this sentence will be a deterrent. Tim Crook reports.
