The Queen Mother has joined in celebrations marking the forty-fifth anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy by unveiling a stained glass window in the eleventh-century Bayeux Cathedral. As Tim Marshall reports, several hundred veterans who stormed the beach in 1944 were entertained by a British army band. Major Donald Holman discusses the war and the reasons behind it.
