Clayre Gribben reports on British nurse Daphne Parish being freed on humanitarian grounds having previously been sentenced to 15 years in an Iraqi jail on spying charges for helping Observer journalist Farzad Bazoft (who was executed). Zambian President Kenneth Kaunda intervened to secure her release. Also reports on changes in Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s regime and possible improvement in Anglo-Iraqi relations.
