Description

Political correspondent Paul Rowley interviews Robert Maclennan, Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman on their call for an independent watchdog to investigate miscarriage of justice cases. The watchdog would be called a public defender. Follows successful quashing of convictions for the Birmingham Six, Guildford Four and Maguire Seven and a Royal Commission being opened into their cases. Maclennan says the existing system is inadequate and in need of urgent reform.
