Description

The final section of the Skye toll bridge will be lowered into place today, joining the island to the Scottish mainland for the first time. The bridge is expected to bring more tourists to the island and boost the local economy, but it will also mean the end of the Skye ferry. Businessman Bob Danskin says he wants to set up a new ferry to give the public a choice.
