- Description
- Six broadcast journalists and a member of the public have lost their High Court challenge to the Home Secretary’s ban on radio and television interviews with Northern Irish extremist organisations. The ban, announced last October, applies to proscribed terrorist groups like the INLA and also legal organisations such as Sinn Fein and their supporters. Legal correspondent Tim Crook reports. Scarlett Maguire of the NUJ comments on the decision. Crook begins to interview Jake Ecclestone(?) of the NUJ in the Royal Courts of Justice, but the interview is interrupted by a member of security with whom Crook then has an argument about his right to record in the building, eventually securing an apology before resuming the interview.
