- Description
- A sale of shares in Hereford Cathedral’s seven hundred year-old treasure, Mappa Mundi, has flopped. Today is the deadline for selling two thousand, eight hundred shares, and less than half that target has been reached. Now a controversial 1989 version of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus is the last hope for raising millions of pounds to repair the crumbling cathedral. Julie Benson has this exclusive report. The Bishop of Hereford, John Eastaugh, comments, as does the song’s producer(?), Gordon Blair. Audio quality poor (muffled).
