The Government has announced major changes to the water privatisation bill that are designed to protect the environment and ensure customers share the profits from land sales. The move by the Department of the Environment has been welcomed by conservationists. The Ramblers’ Association has called it a step in the right direction, while the Campaign for the Countryside has praised it as a positive response to their pressure.
