This afternoon, Edward Heath said he had had no reaction to demands by some Conservatives for the party whip to be removed from him. Its the usual gang, he said, and he denied that his attacks on Margaret Thatcher were personally motivated. Tory Chairman, Peter Brooke, whom Heath called a liar, has been talking to political correspondent Des Fahy.
