Miriam Kwayum(?) reports on clues given to police by husband Gordon Wardell as police hunt in Warwickshire for a gang of armed robbers after the murder of a Woolwich building society manageress in a £15,000 raid. 38-year-old Carol Wardell was abducted from her home in Meriden, her husband was left bound and gagged. Gordon is in hospital recovering but has already spoken of finding the men in his home when he returned from work. Includes interviews with Carol’s brother, Tony Heslop; Detective S uperintendent Tony Bayliss. (Gordon Wardell was later arrested and jailed for life for the murder, the robbery exposed as an elaborate hoax). Originally broadcast on Mercia Sound.
