- Description
- On the eve of a protest by Muslims it has been announced that for the first time a group of British authors are to publicly read out extracts from Salman Rushdie’s book, The Satanic Verses. Writer and musician Larry Adler has organised the reading; participants will include Martin Amis and Ian McEwan. Adler says British authors have been dishonourably slow in reacting to the death threats made against Rushdie, despite the danger. Interviewer is George Matheson.
