- Description
- Heritage Secretary Stephen Dorrell on the Conservative leadership contenders. He says that John Redwood really has nothing new to say and so the growth of his following has been limited, whilst John Major’s support has held relatively steady throughout the first phase of the Conservative Party leadership campaign. Of rumours about Michael Heseltine’s and Michael Portillo’s support, Dorrell says that he has personally heard them express their support for John Major. Margaret Thatcher has showed support for Redwood. Dorrell remains convinced that Major is the best choice. Female interviewer not identified.
