Iain Ramage reports on the Queen’s birthday honours, including the knighthood warded to DJ and entertainer Jimmy Savile. Savile claims it was a shock, but also a great honour for him, his family and his charities. Actor, Peter Ustanov comments on his knighthood, and says it will take a while to get used to. Fashion designer Bruce Oldfield, who was awarded the MBE, is pleased with the honour, while businessman Robert Haslam has become a life peer. Sportswoman Mary Peters received the CBE; she recalls her reaction to the news. Sportsmen John Lever and Richard Hadlee also comment on their awards.
