Description

During a riot at Strangeways Prison, a prison officer was attacked and knocked out. Prisoner Dennis Binks helped the officer, Brian McCormick(?), to safety and here describes the actions of other prison guards, who escaped while their workmate lay in danger. An inquiry has heard details of the riot, and how it had been planned. Simon Israel reports.
