Description

One of the stars of the Kirov’s London season is Andris Liepa, who has just joined the Leningrad company after spending a year in New York with the American Ballet Theatre. Liepa is an example of the new breed of Soviet dancer, who is able to freely work abroad. Dance correspondent Debra Craine asked him what his experience in New York meant to him as a Soviet performer.
