Description
A Liberian tanker, the Skylon, collided with a Polish freighter in the Channel sparking fears of a large oil slick. French, Belgian and British boats controlled the slick and the blaze which had started on board. Coastguard Peter Warrington describes the success of the operation to stop any pollution from spilling into the sea.
