- Description
- A new Government plan, put forward by Margaret Thatcher, to tackle the greenhouse effect has been given a hostile reception from green groups. But scientists working on a UN report on global warming welcome her commitment. Dr John Houghton thinks Britain’s move will provide some breathing space. Professor Bert Bolin thinks the move will persuade other leaders to follow suit. Dr Daniel Lashof of the Natural Resources Defence Council says America can no longer use selective science as an excuse to do nothing. LBC’s environment correspondent John Allen has been talking to the scientists.
