- Description
- Labour leader Neil Kinnock has fiercely defended the party’s abandonment of unilateral nuclear disarmament, and called on his left-wing critics to back the change. In his first speech since the strategy of multilateral negotiation was adopted by the ruling National Executive, he told the Welsh Labour Conference in Llandudno that the switch was not a sell-out of principle. But the key question of whether he will push the nuclear button was not fully answered. From Llandudno, Paul Rowley reports.
