- Description
- A retired air commodore is claiming that last night’s fireball from a US Air Force jet could have caused another Hiroshima over southern England. The F1-11 nuclear bomber got into trouble over the Upper Heyford airbase in Oxfordshire, spewing blazing fuel into the night sky, before limping to a safe emergency landing. Air Commodore Alastair Mackie, who used to fly British nuclear bombers but is now a Vice -Chairman of CND, says there could have been a catastrophe. Male interviewer not identified.
