- Description
- Convicted police killer, Winston Silcott remains Honorary President of the London School of Economics Students’ Union after a move to oust him failed. A motion to overturn the decision to elect Silcott, convicted of the murder of PC Keith Blakelock during the Tottenham riots, needed a two-thirds majority but failed by twenty votes. Death threats have now been made to a number of staff, including the secretary to the School’s director. Last night the Board of Governors met to discuss the crisis, and afterwards, Chairman Sir Peter Parker gave us his reaction. Talking to Peter Russell.
