Paul Rowley interviews Education Minister, Baroness Blatch (Emily May Blatch) on new Government guidelines which will mean that secondary schoolchildren who make spelling mistakes will be penalised. GCSE pupils will lose marks if they make errors in spelling, grammar or punctuation in their coursework. Previously the skills were only tested in exams. Blatch says the educational basics need to be improved.
