Interview with Richard Lawrence, Customs and Excise, about Operation Ernie and effect on future fraud. Nine highly specialised Customs and Excise fraud investigators took six years to crack the multi-million pound VAT gold fraud for which three men were gaoled at the Old Bailey (17/06/87). The three men gaoled were Alexander Grunfeld, Thomas Lee, and George White. Male interviewer not identified.
