- Description
- There were minor scuffles between RUC officers and an angry crowd where Irish Prime Minister, Charles Haughey was speaking, after it was announced that suspected terrorists were not going to be extradited from the Republic to Northern Ireland. Haughey is reprimanded by the Reverend Ian Paisley, but says that the British Government does not understand Irish extradition laws, and that Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is also drawing ignorant connections between court decisions and the terrorist acts. James Matthews reports.
