- It has been revealed that there had been intelligence prior to an IRA attack in which four soldiers were killed. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher once again urges the Irish Government to extradite suspects, and Irish Prime Minister, Charles Haughey pledges his full support in bringing the terrorists to justice. Ulster Defence Regiment Brigadier, Charles Ritchie offers his condolences to the families of those affected. Privates John Bradley, John Birch, Stephen Smart and Michael Adams are named as the full-time soldiers who were killed. Colin Duncan reports.
