Statement by US President, George H. W. Bush following agreements between America and Russia on making new cuts in their countries’ nuclear arsenals. At their first summit in Washington, Bush and Russian leader Boris Yeltsin announced that stocks of long-range warheads will be slashed by two-thirds to between three thousand and three-and-a-half thousand each. Bush says it is another giant step towards a safer world.
