Description

Simon Israel interviews Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Sir John Woodcock, following the publication of his annual report. Woodcock, the most senior policeman in England and Wales, is calling for a major change in the way officers deal with the public and says public confidence has been severely shaken by miscarriages of justice and failure to clear up crime. But he also stresses that an escalation of street violence is bringing untold pressure on officers.
