- Description
- Two British holiday jets came close to crashing into each other at Gatwick Airport last night. A British Island Airways BAC 111 apparently landed on the wrong runway, just as the second plane was taxiing for take-off. Gatwick Airport spokesman David Hurst says that if it hadn’t been for the quick responses from an air traffic controller and a British Airways pilot, the near-miss would been an accident.
