Breaking news of the lifting of the six day Balcombe Street siege in Marylebone, London, as four IRA gunmen are taken out under armed cover and driven away to Brixton police station. Jon Snow reports from the scene. Cheers are heard from the crowd happy that the siege has ended peacefully. The two hostages (John and Sheila Matthews) had been released earlier.
