Description
Phil Mercer reports on the retirement of British Coal’s last surviving pit pony. 26 year-old Welsh has worked his last few years at the Big Pit mining museum in Gwent, South Wales. He’s moving to an RSPCA sanctuary to stop him being killed by kindness as he’s got a weight problem from years of being plied with snacks by museum visitors. Includes interview with Peter Walker, museum manager; Fred Williams, museum guide.
