- Description
- An independent report has accused several leading Conservatives on Westminster City Council of placing council tenants at risk in flats contaminated with asbestos dust. The Barrett Report published today concludes that officials were bypassed by the then council leader, Dame Shirley Porter, and the former Conservative Whip Barry Legg - now sitting MP for Milton Keynes South east. It says they deliberately rehoused the homeless families at Hermes Point and Chantry Point in Paddington, despite knowing both blocks were riddled with brown asbestos. Jeff Collins talks to some of the former residents of Hermes and Chantry Point in Paddington.
