Description
France and Belgium have banned British beef and the European Commission is considering a continent-wide ban on Britain’s biggest meat export as the scare about the link between BSE and its human form Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease continues. Our reporter Kevin Murphy has been to the traditional home of the meat trade, London’s Smithfield meat market. Contributions from Health Secretary Stephen Dorrell, butchers and meat trade representatives, scientists, anti-meat campaigners, and David Churchill, whose son died of CJD.
