Andrew Manderstam reports from Detroit on the last ditch attempt by a team of British trade unionists to convince the Ford Motor Company to go ahead with its proposed Dundee electronics plant, which has failed. The team had flown to Detroit for a meeting with a key Ford official. The head of the Ford engineering division in the US describes the situation to press and TUC leader Norman Willis makes a statement.
