Description

First quarter of a 2-hour studio discussion on the family for the Peter Allen show, following the leaking to the Guardian newspaper of Conservative Party proposals for a society in which families and individuals take care of themselves independently of the state. The first guest is former Master of the Rolls, Lord Denning, who talks about the breakdown in family life with the prevalence of divorce and cohabitation outside marriage. Social historian Dr Pat Thane is introduced but does not get to speak as clip ends abruptly, mid-sentence.
