Interview with Dr Anna Snowdon, Scientific Adviser to the National Federation of Fruit and Potato Trades, on the toxic properties of mercury and its presence in some fruit and vegetables. She speaks of its past use in medicine and says that trace amounts in our fruit and vegetables should cause no harm. Also interviewed is John Hayes, who is holding a news conference to reassure the public on the issue.
